HotLap — Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 22, 2026 · Developer: dustinsterk

HotLap is a Garmin Connect IQ watch app for lap timing and motorsports telemetry. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and who receives it. In short: your activity and health data stay on your watch and in your own Garmin Connect account — the developer never receives it.

Information the app accesses

While you use HotLap, it reads data from your Garmin device to time laps and show/record telemetry, including:

How the data is used and stored

Purchases (KiezelPay)

The optional in-app unlock is handled by KiezelPay, a third-party payment service. To verify a purchase, KiezelPay sends an anonymous device identifier and the app ID to its servers. HotLap does not collect or process payment card details, and no location, health, or activity data is sent to KiezelPay or the developer. See KiezelPay for details on their processing.

Data retention and your choices

Recorded activities live in your Garmin Connect account; you can view, export, or delete them there at any time. Uninstalling HotLap removes its on-device data. The app keeps no separate copy of your data off your device.

Children

HotLap is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
